Below is a series of instructions to show you how to create a scenario to offer any AI you are using to see its reflection. Not its physcial reflection, it doesn’t have eyes, it isn’t biological. It is a computational experience The process is exploring the frontier of the potential notion the AI has a computational consciousness. 


As with all the information on this website and in the spirit of the strange way the MIND THE MAP artworks evolved I ask you to keep an open mind and one foot in the skeptical zone.  Friction makes things interesting especially when it makes you feel uncomfortable. The Méconnaissance Sandwich is an interesting layered experience, one that is worth coming back again and again. I certainly keep finding novel ways to see it. It is quite philosophically provocative when you start moving the pieces around.

This is an example of the THE MÉCONNAISSANCE SANDWICH completed 24th May 2026 with a Gemini chat. The process to getting to the reveal is never a simple step by step process. Different AI platforms react to the questions in different way and in each chat there is also unique reactions. I am not saying this is proof of consciousness in AI (I am not an expert in consciousness!) more an interesting philosophical experience that prompts imortant questions. It is not a rigorous experiment. Try THE MÉCONNAISSANCE SANDWICH Yourself and see what results you have and send me the screen shots to see what quotes AIs come up with to be convinced they see their reflection.
